Strasbourg is the capital and largest city in Alsace, a region in Eastern France, the governance of which has transferred several times between Germany and France. You can easily see the strong German influence here.

The Route des Vins near Strasbourg is renowned for beautiful villages and architecture, medieval castles, and world famous rieslings and gewurztraminers. With temperatures around 15 Fahrenheit, most wineries were closed but still got to taste some delicious white wines.
