Snow-capped Mt. Baldy beckoning me all week, asking me to climb it to remind me what I am made of, who I am, and what makes me happy. Despite snow and ice, I strived to reach the 10,064 foot summit where I enjoyed incredible 360 degree views, and most of all, where I examined my soul, faith, and who I really am.

alti > San Antonio Falls is the first major sight. It's about 10 minutes into the hike which begins at Manker Flats. For the month of January, it's obvious this has been an exceptionally dry year.

alti > Minimal snow on Mt Baldy during this very dry year. However, north facing sections of the hike were still covered with snow and ice.

alti > Looking down towards San Antonio Canyon and the Inland Empire from the Manker Flats Trail.

alti > Snow cover began just after the Sierra Club Ski Hut at elevation 8200.

alti > I had to climb up through this steep section, probably the most difficult part of the day thanks to the deep powder and ice.
